And here we are back again with the Japan Echo Foundation (JEF).... (... remember they asked us to help them developing a global web platform nippon.com) "
The Japan Echo Foundation strives to promote understanding of Japan through web-based publishing and other activities. Their goal is to convey information on Japanese politics, economics, society, and culture to a broad spectrum of readers, including opinion leaders overseas."
Nippon.com is their latest child, and believe us, it's a heavy one!
It's actually a huge website collecting tons of information on Japan in five languages: English, Chinese, French, Spanish, and Japanese. The backdrop to launch nippon.com is that Japan, in the two decades since its economic bubble burst in the early 1990s, hasn't been performing well in their external communication. Add to this the disastrous earthquake & tsunami of 11 March 2011, and you understand that an international nongovernmental information platform about Japan became very welcome!
We were challenged to develop the brand identity for nippon.com and make a web design to organize all that information online and, most importantly, make it user-friendly and appealing. In nearly 3 months we designed the site, taking care of... everything: concept, logo, colors, frames, templates, buttons, banners, navigation,.... The web programming / CMS development was done by the Japanese company CONSENT.
www.nippon.com ---- THE information source about Japan.
Happy & proud to be a part of it.
